Thought for the Day 7 July, 2017

Thought for the Day 7 July 2017

The thought for today is obvious really:

“Thank goodness it’s Friday!”

“What does it matter to you?” I hear you whisper under your breath. “After all, you’re pretty much retired so all the days must be much of a muchness!”

The truth is I’m still working eight hours a day, or sometimes a bit more, during the week, and often a bit on Saturday and Sunday as well. The difference is I’m working for myself and not making much money out of it. But the routine is still there and so looking forward to the weekend and a change is still there also. And that’s the crux of the thought. Ever since schooldays we have working days and off days and even if we work on our off days, we still think of them as off days. So most of us look forward to a change of routine on Saturday and Sunday.

And, like Garfield, most of us hate Mondays.

Have a fantastically awesome weekend.

Cheers, Dave
